SHREE SALASAR BALAJI HANUMAN , SALASAR , RAJASTHAN
HISTORY OF THE SALASAR DHAM
On the auspicious day of Saturday – Samvat 1811, Shree Balaji Maharaj appeared in a small village named Asota, situated in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. A humble Jat farmer was working on his field, while he was ploughing the field, the plough hit something on the ground. He dug up the place and he found an idol. He and his wife’s joy had no bound; they cleaned up the holy idol and found out that this was the idol of Lord Shree Balaji Maharaj.
No sooner than later, everyone in the village of Asota knew about the appearance of the Lord. The Thakur of Asota came running and shared that in his dream Lord had appeared and told him to send the idol to Salasar. On the very same night, Lord Balaji appeared in the dream of a Mohan Das, a devout devotee of the lord. The Lord in his dream told him about the idol. Mohan Das, immediately send across the message to the Thakur of Asota. On hearing the details of his dream and the accurate information of the idol, Thakur of Asota was surprised. Without seeing the idol he knew everything about it. Needless to say, the supreme power of Lord was showered on Mohan Das.
The grace of almighty was bestowed upon Salasar and the idol was established there. The place we know today as ‘Salasar Dham’. Pilgrims all over the world come here every day to seek the blessing of Shree Balaji Maharaj.
